Flawless Gloss Text
Step 1, we create the base fo it all. Create a new image with these dimensions and options.[attach]287834[/attach]
Press [b]D[/b] to reset your colors to black and white. Grab the text tool and write some text in the area provided. I will be using the [b]Evil Dead [/b]font for this tutorial. You dont have to use the same text as me asthis effect can be applied to almost any text and look good.

create a new layer above the text layer, your layer window will look like this now

nowmake a selection that goes down about halfway to your text, you canmake it later for a different height in the effect. my selection lookslike this

onthe new layer, fill the selection with white. It should be coveringhalf the text now. Now right click the layer (Layer 1) and select"Create Clipping Mask" and this will only show this layer on the layerbelow and nowhere else.

Youcan now move the newly filld layer up or down meeting your needs onwhere it should be placed in the text. Im gonna move mine down a couplepixels. Now, with Layer 1 selected go to the menu at the top and select[b]Layer> Layer Mask> Reveal All[/b]. Grab the gradient tool. Click from the bottom of Layer 1 and drag UP.

now lets apply the last options, a drop shadow and stroke.
